Where I Stand Sunday

DSC_0174

The ground underneath my feet trembles,

The sky above turns a dingy gray.

Clouds linger ominously.

Waiting and waiting and worried faces.

Caring and whispering “I love yous”

Watching  - as the person we call “mom”

returns from her journey out of forced sleep’s

return from the “Land of Anesthesia” causing

confusion and frustration.

With her ailment’s name written on the wind

ever to be blown – far, far from this place.

“Be still my friend, rest and be well my friend.

Tomorrow is another day -

drink of this life –

while the door is still open.

I love you..”

Where I Stand Sunday is an ongoing photo essay examining the different places I spend my life standing.
Too often we take for granted the everyday places we spend our lives walking on.
The ground we tread on has its own stories to tell.

Pattie, I'm so glad to hear your mom is home now. I haven't checked in with you in so long, I hadn't realized this was happening. I know this frightening, tender place you described and I'm glad you had your family with you.
Sending my love...
