A Painting for Three Days

"Tons of Flowers"
18" x 24"
oil on canvasboard

I am so used to finishing up in one day with 'daily paintings', this one presented me with an interesting feeling to 'hang in there'. I should have had more photos in the progression, but I get stuck in "painting mode" - forgetting all else. I'm hoping to add a big, thick gold (?) or whatever looks best frame...I will have to shop around for just the right one. The levels and colors are most true in this final photo.

Wonderful!
A gold frame will be wonderful, but you might also try a silver or a gold with some silver in it to bring out the cooler tones.

A bit of silver probably WOULD look right...I have some moulding out there, oughta hold it up on the corner to see what it will do to it, not enough to make a frame though. Always my dilemma...Next time I am in KC, for certain!

Nice painting!
I always have such a hard time when I do more than 2 or 3 flowers in a painting; start to get too hung up on details.
Love all the overlapping petals!

Thanks Tracy! As I progressed through, beyond the first 2 or 3, I started to wonder...what had I done, but I decided to make it like a puzzle and take small parts and work that way.
