Where I Stand Sunday

A little fancier look...but the days go by - all in the same way for the most part.
I now have some impetis to draw, the sketching materials are at my side.
I am in front of the TV that has the DVR...yea, no commercials!
Thinking of freeze framing some shows to sketch portraits.
Since I am not a 'big box watcher', this is kind of a novelty right now.  It will wear off soon.  Some of my faves - Comedy Central (laughter is the best medicine of all), Halogen and of course TLC, HGTV, DIY, History Channel, Food Network and throw in a few HBO specials and movies and I am good for quite awhile.   Phone calls, comments and nice cards arrive daily - thanks.  I have a long way to go on this journey.  Knowing you care makes it a lot easier.  Best idea we have had ~ that we didn't realize, buying two Lazyboy recliners last year.  Who would have thunk what a perfect set-up it would be for me - at this time.  Watching "Concrete Canvas" right now...amazing!
Keep checking back, maybe the excitement and some new energy will pick up soon!

Where I Stand Sunday is an ongoing photo essay examining the different places I spend my life standing.
Too often we take for granted the everyday places we spend our lives walking on.
There are several others who also write this on Sunday, see sidebar.

Pattie, I just read your Feb.12th account post of the terrible accident, and had to stop half way through. Yes I am a big baby when it comes to things like that. I can still see Lawrence Taylor making Joe Theisman's leg do exactly what you described, only higher up. Shiver!!! When I commented on your FB page I really didn't get the whole picture. I can only imagine the pain, and lucky you didn't pass out. The only thing good about an ankle injury is, it shouldn't hurt when you laugh. All the best my friend.

hey vern...that is the exact image + a few more i can think of and how is that supposed to happen to me? days are long sometimes and short in other times...all in all, i think i will come out on the other side OK, it's hard to know. my "utility woman" status has been waning over the last few years and i need to regain a little of that, but it's difficult. mustering up determination...that's the name of this game. thanks for stopping by...

Looks like you are pretty well set up to deal positively while enduring this recovery time. Praying you will have the energy you need and be healed. God bless you

How great that you got the new recliners - they can be more comfortable than a bed sometimes!
When I am not painting plein air, or from life, I like to use my computer monitor to show the photograph instead of the actual photograph. The light behind the image is so much more realistic. I think your big screen would be a wonderful source to work from. Some of them even allow you to put your camera card in the side and do a slideshow that can be paused.
Take care - you have such a great attitude, and that is the key!

Goodness, what a journey you are on- my husband did something similar several years ago. We didn't have a decent recliner when he had his run in with ice and doctors. So glad you have found a set up that works for you as you heal.
