Adaptation

The phrase "home - away from home" has a new twist.  It's "studio - away from studio".  I have to keep telling myself, it's like taking a class away from home.  Be patient and the creative juices will flow eventually.  Commission work has traveled with me to KC.  Mom is still in a fog but making little tiny steps each day.  We are on daily vigil trusting and praying that she will come out into the clear blue sky, start sailing smoother through each day and get to come home soon.
Will post more as progress happens.  I appreciate my 'followers' and regular 'visitors' so much!
Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Where I Stand Sunday

Visiting family in KC, delivering art, picking up some furnishings - to keep or pass-on...thinking of a reconfigeration of the studio.  COOOOLD here..snowed a little, and as always - enjoy the company and the extra added pleasure of reading a REAL newspaper.

Small Road Trip and Prickly Hoar Frost

If you have missed my blog, it's because I haven't been blogging. Ha! We took a quick trip to see family in KC. Stayed at mom and dad's and saw brother and his wife. It's really nice living closer to family than before! Dogs had to go to a kennel and are trying to get their re-entry wits about them. They lose their voices and need to catch up on their sleep, as you can see, so you can imagine what goes on while they are there.

While there it snowed. We try to plan around the weather, and had a dry trip back home.
Here is hubster (posterized) cleaning off the truck.

And here is mom, dad and me - I like to posterize photos, it makes them "zing"!

Upon arriving back to home, the "hoar frost" was gone. I am waiting for it again, so I can take a photo of it. Don't know what hoar frost is, look it up on Wikipedia! It's a very cool thing.

Hangin' with my Peeps

Hello from KC, been here for a few days to be with my dad who celebrated his 82nd birthday. Having a good visit spending time with my mom, dad, brother and sister-in-law. Pickin' up a few things/materials that I can't get at home, like a true prairie resident; have to go to the big city for supplies sometimes! Hmmm..I think I hear thunder. Weather is changing. Go Broncos, go Chiefs (but go Broncos! when they play each other) and cross your fingers for Rockies! Check back on Thursday for photos! Will have some true "before and after" photos of the homestead when I get back, as I hear the north side is DONE!! Getting ready to take another class with Kaye Franklin, oil and pastel artist from Texas for 4 days. I learned a lot from her last year and hope to glean more from her this year, too!

Adventures in Pyrography

Last year about this time, I purchased a cheapo woodburning set and some little wood pieces and tried my hand at woodburning.  I made a few...
