"Geraniums"
10" x 20"
oil on deep wrapped canvas
This painting will always have a special meaning to me. I began it just as I got the call from my dad to come to KC, that mom's fight with cancer was at an end.
(I miss her soo much..)
It was sketched in and the background was started.
Everytime I walked into the studio this last few weeks, since returning home, I have wanted to get going on it....the last several days I have been able to.
IT FEELS SOO GOOD TO BE BACK IN THE STUDIO IN FRONT OF MY EASEL!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Time does ease the pain a little, but I see you are finding solace in your art. That is so good to see. And the painting is terrific! I LOVE pink and green, it is such a fresh combination.
thanks Sharon...I will find that peace through my art, it always seems to happen.
Pattie, I am so glad that you were able to find some peace through this beautiful painting you are working on. Being able to create in even the saddest of times is such a gift. I am sure that this is one of those paintings that will never leave your possession because of the memories of your mother that have been worked into it.
Thanks Claire - it's true, it will never leave.
Please no spam...it's too much extra work for you!
Pattie, I am so so sorry to read about your Mom. We never get over losing ours Moms but time will help. Your painting is lovely. Hugs
Thanks Barb - 'painting time' needed in the worst way, maybe today!
