“Bourgeois Bulbs”
18” x 24” (big) oil on canvas board
The news is so full of woe and funk, I thought it would be uplifting to paint some flowers. Found this at the bottom of my stack of “to be painted” photos.
(I've been really neglectful of this space. Yikes!) This summer we planted TREES on our property - spent so much time caring for them,...

Has a nice early 1900s feeling, or flavor.
Pattie this does have a vintage feel to it - I love it!
At the bottom huh? Well I really like this one, and envy the possibilities as you work your way up the pile. Great colour combo.
I love this skewwiff composition, it really focuses attention on the flowers. Brilliant!
Pattie...
I'm glad I'm back!!! Your photos are GREAT and this IS a "cheer up" painting... Great colors and great "look"...
Funny... I never gave much thought to the forshortening effect on flowers but you've mastered it!!
I'll be back sooner next time!!
This is 50 kinds of gorgeous - Wow!!! Pattie, I bow down.
Thanks Camille, Vern, Mark, Sharon and Marian. I don't paint flowers often, and I took the challenge on the background, too. I think it works - and I like the colors together! As always, your visit is appreciated and loved!
and Karen, never thought of the vintage feel, but it does now that I look at it..the photo had many different ways to go, but I chose this one.
