A Work in Progress

This is what I am painting today (8" x 10"), in conjunction with helping hubster revamp/renovate our 1950 (yes, that's old) Chevy grain truck. We are working on redoing the instrument panel...and he is rewiring the whole entire truck - lights.
A big job...and a hot one.
I think he is ready to give it up for today,
where I have the air conditioned studio - and oh it is so nice in there,
he is working out in the heat.
This painting is being done from a photo of turnips that our neighbor brought us last year.
I am enjoying the triad colors with the cool and warm purple of the turnips.

I love these turnips.
Our van is from 1976 and I thought that was really old!

Thanks - I won't tell my daughter that you thought a 1977 van was really old...she was born that year. I love eating turnips, just raw, like they are.

Hi Patty,
I met you tonight on Susan's ustream. Your work is gorgeous! I particularly like your Southwestern Landscapes. I hope you don't mind if I link you to my blog. You have a new fan!

This is developing beautifully Pattie...love all those earthy warm colours. It's so great to see you back at it and adding some quality to the www.

Pattie, these turnips are wonderful, but gotta tell you that your Flint Hills Afternoon and Hills of Ojo Caliente are SOO-pah!!! Especially H.of O.C., the composition is dynamic and for lack of more original wording I'll just say it really pops. Very inspiring.

Thanks Camille, interesting that gallery owners didn't seem too excited about the H of OC...I liked it too.
