A Gathering of the Equine Kind

"The Gathering"
9.5" x 18"
pastel on velour paper
Just finished today.  I may have a little to do on the horse on the left..the photo has shown me something I need to fix.  Other than that, it's done.  These horses can often be seen together in a field close to my house.  I love their colors!

Love that horizontal format. I agree, their colors are great! I like your use of purple and blue for the white shadows. It has a wonderfully Impressionistic feel.

Again, thanks Gwen...especially for being specific. As artists, it really helps to have some good critique. I have this odd color wheel that I got when I was one of those direct sellers for a rubber stamping company, and its put together with some more obscure colors - it matches
their 'cardstock' colors. For pastels - it has really helped me gather more direct complements - used especially in the grass, to make it sing a little more.

I can't wait to mat and frame this one! It will go to a few shows and then be in my 'etsy store'. Thanks!
