A Dog's Portrait for Today - RIP

"Sam"
6" x 8"
oil on canvasboard
My aunt recently had to put her beloved Great Dane to sleep. He was old and failing.  You may remember him from my post a couple of July 4's ago - (although I can't find the post right now.)
RIP gentle giant.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and your encouraging comments. Thank God I am feeling much better, still need lots of rest.

"Sam" I can sense the age in him but also the gentleness. Sorry for your aunt I'm sure he was a great companion for her.

I love the snow that continues as part of your blog!

Hello Pattie,
I've just spent a little bit of time scrolling through your paintings and photos, and have had such a good time, I've added myself as a follower. Your painting here of Sam is beautiful, love the strong, bold brushstrokes and color palette.
Take care,
Angela

Thanks Victoria, glad you are feeling better. Angela - thanks for perusing...since I haven't added many paintings lately and you were looking a little deeper in the pile :D - seems this part of winter has consumed me more than usual.
