"Coney Island Beach Waders"
12" x 16"
oil on studio canvas
I haven't painted my granddaughter yet. She is 28 months old and lives far, far away in Brooklyn, N.Y. This is her and my son-in-law in the ocean during a summer visit to Coney Island. Appropriate to look at - as well as paint, since we are destined to have more snow tonight.

You captured the tenderness of a moment in time to be treasured for ever. Is it just my computer or is this painting really this dark?
Ha, glad you mentioned that, I took the original photo last evening after sunset...the lighting was horrible. Took it again this morning and replaced it. Should look better now. Let me know if it doesn't.
What a beautiful painting this is!! Akiko
Thanks Akiko! I am glad I got to it, it has been sitting on my drafting table for some time - staring at me. :-)
Yes, this is so much better! Wow what a difference! Great painting!
