30 in 30 - Day 4

Some of you may have already caught this, but the post for Day 4 was not supposed to be until 12:01 AM on Jan. 5.  This challenge began on Jan. 2nd.
So - thanks to Claire - I am now on target for posting on the right day!

"Into the Fringe"
(pheasant)
oil on wood
(oops, forgot to measure it)

Painted from a photo from 'Paint My Photo' website by John Robinson.

Hi Pattie, this is a beautiful painting and the dark woodsy background shows the Quail off really well.
I don't always identify birds correctly so forgive me if it is some other species.
Glad I got to enjoy your blog for a few minutes , now I'm off to paint.

Thanks for visiting Terry - that's what I am doing this morning, the blogisphere is alive with painters!! I should have listed what kind of bird - my bad?? It's a pheasant. I take for granted that people know what I know. Here in the middle of nowhere, these birds flourish - and are so abundant. I will be off to paint soon, too. This challenge is just what I needed!!

There's so much personality in this piece, Pattie. We see so few ring-neck pheasants in our area any more, so it was even more of a pleasure to see this!

For someone who got the posting day or time, wrong for the challenge, you are ahead of the game having the widget. How do you do that?

Love your paintings - really really great work. I am now a follower!

Thanks Julia, copied the 30 in 30 photo from Leslie's blog, then added an image in the sidebar in Blogger (don't know which blog format you are using) and linked the photo to her site.
I am following YOU now too!
