Keeping to my theme - INVITING SPACES -
many years ago, we were fortunate enough to stay a week at
the Kona Village Resort in Hawaii. This painting is done from a photo
I took as you round the end of the cove at the resort
and begin to walk down the beach to the next resort.
The rock you see is volcanic and it made a nice natural tide barrier.
Kona Village Resort was hit by a tsunami in March of 2011.
They are rebuilding it, but it has been closed since then.
It was one of those 'once in a lifetime' opportunities.
Would love to go back there someday
and sit in one of those beach loungers
and just watch the ocean and I could do that ALL day!

Looks like where you in the USA would love to be now that you are having such cold weather! We have the view here on Okinawa but it is rainy and wet cold here today! Your painting is truly an inviting space! great!

Yes, I would love to paint right in that spot..cept there is nothing but far reaching ocean looking away from the beach..but I guess sunrise and sunsets would be perfect!
