"Cloey Again"
6" x 6"
oil on wrapped canvas
Sometimes when painting a likeness, I get very picky -
not perfectionistic, but picky.
Day 2's painting did NOT
have that 'soul and spirit' that I like
to put in my animal portraits.
Therefore - round 2.
I like this one better.
I started with the eyes, as I often do.
and moved on.
If I don't have a good photo of eyes,
or the eyes don't have that glimmer
the finished painting
often lacks that LIFE ~
because I need to see it
not just feel it.
Painted the nose in three different spots, before
I was satisfied today.
White fur has always been a challenge
and that's just
what these 30 days are -
a PAINTING CHALLENGE,
right?

Good Luck with the next ONE!
Love this!! What a sweet face! Looks like she's ready to pounce! I love painting animals too. They have so much personality!!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving nice comments Andie and Sue!
That's great! I have the same issue with eyes, if I can get the eyes to have that "spark" I love the painting, but if not, I'm just not happy with it.
Thanks Vicki - good to know there are many of us that it HAS to BE with eyes - thanks for stopping by!
