"Miss Priss"
6" x 6"
oil on pine veneer
NUMBER ONE!!! Woohoo - Happy New Year! I hit the ground runnin' today
and got this first one done in no time! I had DH cut me down some great
cabinet remnants I picked up a few years ago, (thanks Linda). They are cut into
small 6" x 6" squares for this challenge. I sanded them all, primed them with gesso,
then covered them with a colored coat of acrylic - this one is an eggplant purple underneath.
Miss Priss belongs to my cousin in Texas, Debbie. She has LOTS of doggies, and rescues
and advertises LOST dogs alot. She (and her daughter and niece) are dog lovers extraordanaire.
Because of her dedication, I chose Priss to be my first painting of the new year.
Priss is sooo tiny and a real heart stealer - she is a chihuahua.
P.S., my focus will be 'pets' - but what I am really working on is
big strokes of paint,
with minimal 'detail' strokes.

Hi Pattie, Love Miss Priss and your enthusiasm. Also in 30 in 30 which is how I found your blog. All the best!
Nice to meet you. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I love Miss Priss and the energy in your work. Look forward to seeing all you do this month. Cris
I just found your art through Leslie's challenge! I love both your art and your style of writing! I have signed up to follow you by email now!! Do you have a theme for the challenge? Good luck with the challenge. I am doing a rescue pet theme for challenge ... feel free to check out my site at www.kathymackay.com
Cheers!!
Hard to believe this is only 6" square! Wow! it looks like it is much larger! Interesting color theme! Great start!
Thank you Victoria, Kathy and June. Kathy my theme is pets too - furry and not furry...and as I wrote in this post, trying to work on bold strokes - bigger brushes - less tiny details. I appreciate your sign-up. That color theme is interesting to me, how the underneath purple created a total cool, even when I used warmer colors.
Thanks Cris K.!
This little doggy made me laugh! So cute!!!
You seem to really capture the spirit of this little cutie.
Thanks Tam and April! I appreciate your stopping by - and leaving such fun comments!
