Rocks and Other Things

OK, this task of writing about something I am grateful for ~ has me
waking up at night...thinking about what I will write the next day.  Not 'the worry', just 'the choosing'.

Painting in my dreams and writing from the twilight.
I can do this.
My subjects for this month are not in any particular order of importance, but I want to write about this one before I segue into anything else.

I am so thankful and grateful for this man, my husband...he is my ROCK!
I don't think one ever can realize how much someone cares for you than in living through a situation such as the one I have been through this past year.
My care and safety through this terrible broken ankle and healing are on his mind first and foremost.  During those times when I have needed it, which were more in the first month or so last February and again this past week and going forward another week or so, he fluffs my pillow on my chair, he helps me do daily care for myself, he runs to get me anything I need, he helps me in and out the door and steps, he drives me to the doctor appointments and sees that I am taken care of there.  He grocery shops for us and cooks our meals.  He does the dishes and does housework that needs it all without a complaint.  And I know he does these things because he wants to, not because I asked him to.

Taking it for granted?  Sometimes that is my guilt.
People often say, "Well he's your husband, that's what he's supposed to do!"
In this day and age, not necessarily..and believe me I have been at the other end of this line.

So here it is...my most grateful surrender of this 30 or so days...
thank you G and I love you.

I love reading this, to know how much you appreciate your hubby. I bet he appreciates you just as much knowing you would be there for him through anything. We are blessed.

Pattie, such a lovely post and tribute to the wonderful man your husband is. I know exactly what you mean. As you may remember, my sister-in-law was out of action when she developed necrosis of the main bone in her lower leg at the knee area. For 3 to 4 months, she was not allowed to move from a chair or bed except to answer the call of nature or take a bath. Like your husband, my brother stepped admirably up to the plate and, just after having a cancerous kidney removed himself, did EVERYTHING that you mentioned. He became quite a chef in the kitchen too. I am so proud of him as I know you are of your husband too.

Serena, I remember about your sister, bless her. Your brother is a saint - to be so caring. I am proud - more than I can say.
