Where I (Stand?) Sunday

Maybe you will see a different boot next Sunday, as this one is not working well...very uncomfortable, pushes on the wrong areas of my ankle...sometimes I feel like James Caan who is being beaten with a sledge and wooden block by Kathy Bates in "Misery".
Trying to find lots of variety of things to do. My friend Leann, sent me a cool book that she made for me, part journal, part puzzle, part sketchbook..it is very fun.
I bought this engineer's sketchbook online last year...thought I would get busy doing some pencil work in it for now.
What is cool about it is, it has gridded pages...easier to use for symmetricals like elipses, etc.
I thought I would use some magazines for source and create some ads and photos into a drawing here...
Using these to make this..
not done yet...having trouble staying with anything for a length of time...pain meds do that I think.  Anyway..weather is changing out there, I can see it, and in the days ahead I actually want to experience it some more.  Really a balancing act to work my camera, sit on my laptop and juxtipose my art stuff here..I have a new appreciation and understanding for the disabled. My actual standing on my foot won't happen for another 4 1/2 weeks or so...can you imagine?

No, I really can't imagine Patty!
Glad you have things to work on while you are laid up. If this bassett is any indication of your focus, I believe you will have lots to develop further when you are back to painting. Take care!!

It wasn't for the tv screen being different I'd say it was last weeks photo, hahaha. That drawing of the dog in your next sketchbook is awesome! Where did you find that sketchbook!I'm going to try to find something like that here on Okinawa, not easy to find things like that though. Thank you for your amazing comment on my blog! I love drawing hands, they are my fav! God bless you and keep you strong as you endure these non-walking days.

Thanks MARK..Victoria youbshould be able to pick one up at an engineer's supply store. There are different brands and you can find them online but I remember you have said it's tricky on shipping for you.

I love the soulful expression on this pup - and what a great little notebook to work with.
Hope that you are getting some of this nice weather, and that means a chance to get outside and sit in the warm sun. We have had some really nice temperatures here. The other day I walked outside, and so many little wild crocus had popped up through the lawn - so pretty! It just seems weird that we have had such a mild winter - but I'll take it!
Hoping that your pain has lessened. Did you get a new boot?

Adventures in Pyrography

Last year about this time, I purchased a cheapo woodburning set and some little wood pieces and tried my hand at woodburning.  I made a few...
