"Happy Birthday to YOU!"

Today is my daughter's birthday!  We live far apart.  I wanted to celebrate her day by painting a portrait (often used subject matter) of her.  Found this cool photo of her and my granddaughter catching some sun on a cruise they were on with her husband's family a year ago in November.  I have one more thing to add, my granddaughter was wearing a MardiGras type necklace that was wrapped up over her arm but in talking with her today, we decided it's not important. Decided to let the canvas dry a little to add that.  So Happy Birthday - Jessica!  May the sun shine bright on your day!

Not only a beautiful painting, but a special moment of love and security that you've captured here. Your highlights are wonderful, especially on your daughter's shoulder.

Love this Pattie and I know she does too. The look on her face is so serene. The feel of the bright sunlight is just right too.

Thanks Susan, Angela, Barb and Dana. My daughter and her husband are also artists. That bright sunlight and the look on her face spoke volumes to me about relaxing in the sun...at a time, when sun wasn't in their vocabulary in NY.

This is just beautiful. You can lamost eel the sun on her skin...and on the baby. I just absolutely love this.
