Painting 30 in 30 - Day 20/Eclipse

"Penumbra"
6" x 6"
mixed media/acrylic, ink, watercolor
on Raymar canvasboard

I have finally found a sweet spot in painting these small
abstracts.  I am really happy with the way
this one turned out.
I started it a few days ago..the underpainting
piece.  Even though it's acrylic - it takes
time for thicker paint to set up
and be able to be scraped across
without sacrificing some
pigment injury.
I think I may have to do a big one of this one -
later on.  The trick will be
coming up with 'texture tools'
that will simulate what was
used on this small scale.
