30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day #16...wow!

"Daylilies"
9" x 12"
palette knife oil on gessoboard
(click on this one, you have to see the heavy impasto)

OK, I have done my 'palette knife painting
for this '30 in 30'...it was
challenging!
BUT - I like that there are no brushes to
clean at the end of the day.  AND I like how it is not as exacting - actually 'freeing' - with the strokes made by the knife, or in this case, 'knives'.
HOWEVER, this technique uses lots of paint!

It caught some light/shine from above lighting in the
top right corner during photo session.
It will take a long time to dry.
But that's OK! The more I look at it, the more I like it.

How I love these daylilies!!! They are such a true sign of summer. You have done a beautiful job with these, and with all of the paintings you have done so far for the challenge, Pattie!
