Number 17 in a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge

"Japanese Bantam"
6" x 6"
oil on Raymar canvasboard
NFS

This is a painting of MY (1) rooster, Queenie.  He is a Banty Rooster, very comical and quite ditzy - but I suppose a lot of roosters are.  They have only two purposes, as I see it...to give morning and/or warning crows and to help with fertilization of the eggs (we collect each day's eggs so that isn't happening) - but we get a kick out of him just the same.
He is way smaller than my large Sussex hen
(painting of chick, a few days back is 'she'),
and she puts up a fight
every time he begins his 'love' dance.
Don't tell him - but he's a follower, not a leader....

Queenie appears to have an identity problem. Ditzy? Maybe it is "his" name?
