Painting 30 in 30 - Day 11/Sostenuto

"Sostenuto"
acrylic on wrapped canvas
18" x 24"

I see many things in this one, at first I saw birthday candles,
then I saw piano hammers/striking the soundboard.
Thus - sostenuto - which means 'sustained' in Italian.
A piano has a sostenuto pedal..but this motion
that was created in the painting
reminds me of a sustained note.
I had a certain color palette in mind, only using
red, blue and yellow with black and titan buff for
mixing colors, tones and values.

I am loving pieces that are basically dry when I am finished
and I am continuing to push myself to stay 'abstract'
in genre.
